Charles is a native Texan and has made Hutto his home since 1977.  Both of his children graduated from Hutto High School.  Charles was educated at UT Austin and holds three degrees from UT including his doctorate.  Professionally, Charles has been a private practice psychologist since 1997. 

Dr. Holland’s private practice is relatively broad based.  He works with children from age 9 years.  He also treats adults and couples.  His treatment approach is primarily cognitive behavioral in nature. Common issues Dr. Holland frequently works with include anger management, anxiety, mood disorders, including bipolar disorder, trauma recovery, and addictive behaviors.


Personal Interests:


Charles has long been involved in his community.  He has been a member of the Hutto Lions club for over 30 years.  He has served two terms on the Hutto ISD School Board and as chair of the Hutto Parks Advisory Board for 10 years. He was instrumental in establishing a parks program in the community.  Charles is also active in several professional organizations such as, APA, TPA, CAPA, and EMDRIA


Family has always been Charles’ main priority.  Family activities that include his adult children and two grandchildren are a major source of enjoyment.


He has also been involved with a larger aspect of family.  Charles is a Citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and believes that involvement with his Native American Family is also very important.  He has served three terms as the Chairman of the Chickasaw Council of Central Texas and continues to contribute to regional cultural events.

Prior to being licensed as a psychologist, he had many years of service in a variety of other counseling and human service positions including Austin Sate Hospital and a Community Action program.
